The girls Junior Trojan Lacrosse team is a select team for girls in the 7th and 8th grade who live in the Lassiter High School district. Experience is not necessary, as we will train the new players while working with the returning players. The team has a particular need for goalies and will offer an opportunity for some great goalie training (goalie equipment is provided)! Girls who do not make the JTL select team, will be given the opportunity to play on the Trojan Youth Lacrosse team.
We will offer sticks and goggles for use on a temporary basis for those who wish to try the game for the first time; please let us know if this will be needed for your player. The cost of lacrosse equipment as a beginner is nominal. We encourage basketball and softball players to try out, as these athletes make good lacrosse players. We will try to work around conflicting sports schedules during the tryout period so that the girls get a fair opportunity to work with our coaches.
Spring Tryouts:
Unlike other programs, we extend the tryout period through the first week of January. Tryouts/practices will be held on Monday's and Wednesday's from 4:45pm until dark, and Saturday's (time to be determined). Tryouts begin on November 15.
Tryout Location: Mabry Middle School back fields.
Tryout Registration: Nov 12th-15th.
Tryout Fee: $25
Team Selection Date: January 2009 (likely to be 2 teams)
Team Registration For Those Selected For The Team: Early January.
Season Fees: $350; Fundraising buy-out option of $150 (for players electing to not participate in fundraising) is also due upon selection to the team (Jan '09). Season fee includes: uniform, basic photo package and a minimum of (1) tournament.
A (1) or (3) payment plan is available for season registration fee & fundraising buy-out fee (if selected).
Season Schedule: Late February through early May
