Player Commitment

TYL makes every effort to manage team size in order to offer each player the most desirable playing experience.  We do ask for each player to attend (2) practices per week and (1) game per week throughout the season.  If there is an anticipated conflict in scheduling, please contact the appropriate commissioner to discuss prior to registering your child.

Dogs

We love your dogs, but please do not bring them to the fields during practices or games.  It is a violation of the Cobb County Schools policy and Trojan Youth Lacrosse policy.  We do not want to jeopardize our use of the Cobb County owned fields.  Please leave your dogs at home.  Thank you...

Fundraising (required participation)

Fundraising is an essential component for the resources required for our Lacrosse league, above and beyond the fixed costs that are covered by our "season fees".

Beginning with the Spring 2009 season, each player will be required to participate in fundraising to a level determined by the league.  The player will, however, have an option to "buy-out" their fundraising commitment.

The fundraising "buy-out" is a fee that is in addition to the season fee.  The 2009 fundraising buyout fees are collected during the on-line registration process and are as follows:

  • TYL Youth League
    $75 per player, per season.

  • JTL Middle School Select Team (7th-8th Grade A & B teams)
    $150 per player, per season.

By participating in the buy-out, your player will not have to participate in the fundraising effort.  It is important to understand, however, that 1-2 hours of "volunteering" in other areas of need (not fundraising) will still be required.  Fundraising efforts in the past have included the sale of car wash tickets or pine straw.  Depending on the nature of the fundraising involved, players will be required to sell a certain dollar value of the goods offered.  If the player does not sell the total expected, they will be responsible for purchasing the unsold goods themselves.  A post-dated check will be required from all players (prior to receiving uniforms at the start of the season) not participating in the fundraising buyout (TYL: $75 & JTL: $150).  This post-dated check will only be cashed if the player does not return 100% of the fundraising expectation.

It is estimated that a player on TYL for example, may be required to sell (15) car wash tickets or (75) bails of pine straw.  On JTL, the player may be required to sell (30) car wash tickets or (150) bails of pine straw.  The buy-out option will release a player from participation by selecting the TYL ($75) or JTL $(150) fundraising buy-out during the on-line registration process.
